Precision Tactical Devices: ENGVB & MIPIM

The ENGVB (Enhanced Night Vision Goggle–Binocular) and the MIPIM (Mini Integrated Pointing Illumination Module) are cutting-edge tactical devices engineered for high-performance military applications. The ENGVB, developed by L3Harris, is a helmet-mounted, dual-waveband night vision goggle that fuses white phosphor image intensification with thermal imaging. It enhances situational awareness, target detection, and maneuverability in low-light and no-light environments. The MIPIM, also known as the AN/PEQ-16B, integrates infrared aiming lasers, visible lasers, and white light illumination into a compact unit for active target acquisition and covert operations. Both devices deliver the precision, reliability, and rugged design required for today’s most demanding operational environments.

MIPIM

The L3Harris MIPIM, also known by the military as AN/PEQ-16B, is a multi-function laser device incorporating visible and infrared aim lasers as well as an infrared and LED white light illuminator.

  • Visible Aim Laser provides for active target acquisition in low light and close quarters combat situations without the need for night vision devices
  • IR Aim and Illumination lasers provide for active, covert target acquisition in low light or complete darkness when used in conjunction with night vision devices 
  • White Light Illuminator provides for target identification / illumination for short to medium range tactical scenarios. 
  • Can be used as either a handheld illuminator / pointer or can be mounted to weapons equipped with a MIL-STD-1913 Rail

 

 

Enhanced Night Vision Goggle (ENVG) AN/PSQ-20B 

ENVG is a helmet-mounted monocular that provides the operator with significantly improved targeting and identification in all battlefield conditions and light levels.

Also known by the military as AN/PSQ-20B, the ENVG uses image intensification technology fused with thermal imagery, thereby bridging the gap in performance and capability for both of these sensors

  • Dual-waveband, helmet-mounted goggle providing improved situational awareness, targeting and identification over standard night vision goggles.
  • Internal shutter for auto or user initiated single-point correction
  • User adjustable image intensifier gain and thermal brightness
  • Designed for use with the Advanced Combat Helmet (ACH). The helmet mount wiring assembly and the helmet mount allow for a wide variety of positioning adjustments for optimal comfort and performance. An active projected infrared LED provides short-range illumination allowing such activities as map reading. 
  • Capable of video input and output
  • Integral IR Illuminator to provide an organic light source in conditions of extreme darkness
